Santa Isabel is a family farm with a rich history spanning five generations. Covering 300 hectares, it is located in the beautiful and rugged region of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, known for its remarkable mountains, cool climate, abundant rainfall, dense rainforest, and impressive flora. Established in 1875, the farm is currently owned by Luis Valdés Sr. and managed by his son, Luis, affectionately known as "Wicho."
Wicho grew up immersed in the farm's daily life, assisting his father and developing a deep love for coffee from a young age. After completing his education in agriculture, he returned to Santa Isabel in 1998 to continue the family tradition.
Academy Coffee is proud to purchase from this farm for the second time. When we first brought in their coffee in 2018, it won us our first silver at the Golden Bean Awards, highlighting the exceptional quality of Santa Isabel's production.
